Dragonflight Season 2 of World of Warcraft introduces a fresh Mythic+ Dungeon pool with a mix of old and new dungeons. As in Season 1, the pool contains eight dungeons, four of which are the newly-added Dragonflight dungeons. The remaining four are from previous expansions, including one each from Legion and Cataclysm and two from Battle for Azeroth.
The four Dragonflight dungeons included in the Mythic+ Dungeon pool for Season 2 are: Brackenhide Hollow, Halls of Infusion, Uldaman: The Legacy of Tyr, Neltharus.
These dungeons were not featured in Season 1 and offer a new challenge for players. The other four dungeons are: Freehold and The Underrot from Battle for Azeroth, Neltharion's Lair from Legion, Vortex Pinnacle from Cataclysm.
To help players succeed in Mythic+ difficulty, strategy guides for notable trash and all boss encounters in these eight dungeons will be released after the start of the season. The guides will cover tips and tactics for all roles, including DPS, tanks, and healers. Whether you're new to Mythic+ or a seasoned veteran, these guides can help you prepare for the challenges ahead and maximize your chances of success. SEASON 2 AFFIX SYSTEM Rework
In Dragonflight Season 2, there are some changes to the affix system. Affixes are now applied at keystone levels 7 and 14, and some affixes have been retired while new ones have been added. The affixes Explosive, Quaking, and Grievous have been removed, and new periodic affixes have been added and are active at keystone level 7. These include Afflicted, Incorporeal, Volcanic, Entangling, and Storming. Affixes that trigger on death or have health ranges are now active at keystone level 14, which include Spiteful, Raging, Bursting, Bolstering, and Sanguine. Be sure to keep these changes in mind when diving into the Mythic+ dungeons in Dragonflight Season 2.
Affixes in the Mythic+ dungeons for Season 2 have undergone some changes. Some of the existing affixes have been updated. The Spiteful affix has had its melee damage reduced by 10% and no longer scales past keystone level 20. Raging no longer provides a damage boost but instead grants immunity to crowd control, except for interrupts. The Bolstering affix no longer increases the health of affected enemies, unlike before when it also increased their damage. The Sanguine affix now has the Sanguine Ichor that lasts for 12 seconds instead of 20. These changes aim to improve the balance and challenge of the Mythic+ dungeons in Season 2.
Dragonflight Season 2 introduces three new affixes to the game: Afflicted, Entangling, and Incorporeal. These affixes are applied exclusively at keystone level 7, adding an extra layer of challenge for players. The new affixes bring unique mechanics that players will need to adapt to in order to succeed in Mythic+ dungeons.
Afflicted is a new affix in Dragonflight Season 2 which periodically spawns Afflicted Souls during combat. These souls will cast an uninterruptible Afflicted Cry, reducing all players' haste by 100% for 10 seconds. Afflicted Souls have Cursed Spirit, Poisoned Spirit, and Diseased Spirit, and players can stop them from casting by dispelling one of these debuffs or healing the soul to max health, causing it to despawn. Afflicted Cry has a range of 60 yards and can also be avoided by line-of-sight.
Entangling is another new affix that periodically spawns a plant under players during combat, giving them the Entangled buff and slowing them by 30%. Players can break free from the plant by moving 10 yards away from it, which will snap the vine and remove the buff. However, if players fail to move from the plant within 8 seconds, the plant will stun them for 3 seconds. The Entangled buff can be removed with root-breaking effects such as Blessing of Freedom or Tiger's Lust.
Incorporeal is the third new affix in Season 2, which periodically summons incorporeal beings during combat that continuously cast Destabilize, reducing player damage and healing by 50%. The Incorporeal beings last for 20 seconds before disappearing. All mob types can be affected by CC abilities with mob type restrictions, and interrupting Destabilize will simply cause it to instantly recast it.
